Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof was far from his best against Everton in the 1-1 draw yesterday afternoon. Although the Swedish international put in a more assured display than he did in the same fixture last season, he still looked overawed at times.
The centre-back struggled with the pace of the game and was even outmuscled by Toffees stalwart Leighton Baines at one point. A number of fans on Twitter think it is time for the 25-year-old to move aside so Eric Bailly can get more game time:
Lindelof has got to be the weakest defender I've ever seen

Lindelof has no business in this starting XI with Bailly’s recent performances

Lindelof is a very weak defender. He is too soft. Bailly should partner Maguire next time. I’m disappointed in Lindelof.

Yes please, Lindelof is horrendous.

Lindelof is not at the level of a united centre half

Ole needs to realise lindelof isn’t good enough, Bailly should start v city

Don’t get me wrong I like Lindelof but I don’t think we will win the big trophies with him and Maguire at centre back, Bailly has to step up cos I do think he’s better or get someone else to partner Maguire.

We may see more of Bailly in the coming weeks. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reiterated that the Ivorian needs to ease back into things following a lengthy injury layoff.
Even so, he has impressed when given starts against Chelsea and Club Brugge recently, and he is certainly putting Lindelof under a lot of pressure for his place in the starting line up.
