‘The Man Was Awesome!’ ’15 Year Contract Now’ Fans Praise United Star Who Made 5 Tackles And 4 Clearances Against Forest

Despite some standout performances from the likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes against Nottingham Forest, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez was the player who was given the man of the match award.

The Argentinian international was in excellent form, as he made five tackles and four clearances, helping the Red Devils keep a clean sheet in the 3-0 win at the City Ground.

Supporters on Twitter have been paying tribute to Martinez, who they believe has been an outstanding signing since arriving from Ajax in the summer:

Many pundits questioned Martinez’s ability to play centre-back in the Premier League when he made the switch to Old Trafford. It was felt that his short stature would have left him exposed but he has emphatically proved the doubters wrong.

Considering United had to beat off Arsenal for Martinez’s signature, fans will be delighted that the 25-year-old ended up moving to Manchester instead.
