Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital paid an estimated £4.25 billion for the Blues so, if Forbes are to be believed, they shelled out almost double what the club is actually worth.
With plans to redevelop Stamford Bridge and to purchase a number of feeder clubs around the world, though, it’s likely that Chelsea’s value will increase markedly in the coming years.
