The FIVE Premier League Managers Who Are Favourites To Lose Their Jobs

The Premier League is an unforgiving place. Managers are under constant pressure from their fans and boards to get results every weekend.

There could be a virus outbreak, an injury crisis or other problems in the squad that make things harder for them to do their jobs effectively, but they are still required to pick up points on a regular basis.

Today, we look at the managers who are the likeliest to lose their jobs in the Premier League. You might be surprised by some of the names on this list, with three of them having actually been appointed by their clubs recently.

Press the next page as we count down the five coaches who are currently favourites to be sacked (based on odds from Sky Bet)

5) Ralf Rangnick – Manchester United – 20/1

The German has had a rocky start to life at Old Trafford and, while nobody believes his job is under threat quite yet, his failure to heal the rifts inside the dressing room so far is a major concern.

Results have slightly improved under Rangnick, but performances haven’t, and there are also doubts over whether his high-pressing philosophy is compatible with the squad he currently has at his disposal.

4) Thomas Tuchel – Chelsea – 10/1

A Surprise inclusion on this list, but you have to bear in mind that owner Roman Abramovich does have a long history when it comes to sacking managers without much justification.

Tuchel may have won the Champions League last season, but they have fallen quite a way behind in the title race. Whether Abramovich is keen to give the current Blues boss more time to build a squad that is capable of competing with Manchester City, week in week out, we shall have to wait and see.

3) Eddie Howe – Newcastle – 10/1

A shock defeat to Cambridge United in the FA Cup at the weekend has already led to some questioning the appointment of the 44-year-old.

Howe has only won one of his eight matches since being appointed at the start of November. He wasn’t the no.1 choice for the job in the first place and it remains to be seen how much patience the new Magpies owners have.

2) Claudio Ranieri – Watford – 6/4

Despite only being appointed by the Hornets in October, the Italian has won just two and lost ten of his twelve matches in charge.

Ranieri did manage impressive victories against Everton and Manchester United, while they were unlucky to lose against Arsenal, Chelsea and Brentford, but this is a results business and Watford’s owners are not afraid to make multiple managerial changes during the season.

1) Rafa Benitez – Everton – 4/5

Appointing a former Liverpool manager always looked to be a recipe for disaster, and that has proven to be the case. The Spaniard has fallen out with one of his best players in Lucas Digne, leading to him being sold to Aston Villa.

On the pitch, the Toffees have played a brand of counter-attacking football that hasn’t led to good results. Only seven of Benitez’s 21 games in charge have resulted in victory, and Everton find themselves 15th in the Premier League table.
