The FIVE Players With The ‘Highest Transfer Value’ In The Premier League

The Statisticians at CIES Football Observatory have released their list of the most expensive footballers in world football.

Today, we will be looking at the top five players ranked by the website who are currently plying their trade in the Premier League.

The prices are calculated using a number of different variables, including contract length, age, game time, goals, assists, passes, dribbles, national team participation and the economic level of the club they play for.

Press the next page as we list the five players in the English top-flight who are deemed to have the “highest transfer value”.

5) Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) – €113.9m

This one will raise a few eyebrows, considering his poor form for United in the first half of the season but, as we have already mentioned, the midfielder’s transfer value is calculated using a number of factors.

Of course, if Fernandes doesn’t recover his performance level soon, he won’t be in the top five of this list for much longer.

4) Jadon Sancho (Manchester United) – €115m

Again, the 21-year-old’s inclusion may surprise some people after his struggles since his arrival at Old Trafford, but it is assumed that he will come good in the long term.

Sancho was signed for £73m by United in the summer after racking up countless goals and assists for Borussia Dortmund and, while expectations are weighing heavily on him currently, he does have a great deal of talent.

3) Ruben Dias (Manchester City) – €120.5m

The Portuguese international is still only 24 years of age and he is already one of the best centre-backs in world football. The sky really is the limit for the defender.

Dias has won the Premier League and the League Cup during his time with the Citizens and he looks likely to add to that trophy haul in the coming months.

2) Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) – €133.9m

The 20-year-old made a huge impact when he first broke into the first team, scoring 19 goals during the 2019/20 season and, while things have been harder for him since then, his potential is huge.

Greenwood has all the ability to be a world-class forward and it will be hoped that he can develop his talent over the coming years.

1) Phil Foden (Manchester City) – €152.6m

The City midfielder is only 21 years of age, but he has scored 38 goals and provided 28 assists in 144 appearances since making his senior debut.

Having won TEN major trophies with City, Foden is already a star but he could go on to even greater things in the not too distant future.
