Paris Saint-Germain are willing to pay Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba €600,000 a week (£510,000) a week if he signs on a free transfer next summer, according to reports in the UK.
The 28-year-old started the season in stunning form, with four assists in the 5-1 win over Leeds on Saturday, but he appears to be no closer to signing an extension to his current deal which expires at the end of the season.
PSG are determined to recruit Pogba, even though the France international is said to be keener on joining Real Madrid or Barcelona. However, with the two Spanish giants struggling financially, a move back to his homeland looks like an increasing possibility. Fans on Twitter have been questioning the size of the salary:
thats crazy

Hell no. It would totally destroy the wage structure. David's stupid deal is still a huge weight on the club's finances and he has returned next to nothing since that deal was signed. We need to stop getting swayed by short term performances. If PSG give him 600K, Let. Him. Go.

With Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma already on the club’s books, the Ligue One club seem to be intent on building a team that can dominate European football.
Whether Pogba’s head will be turned by their lucrative offer, we will probably find out more at some point next year when he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement.
