Manchester United have contacted Fulham about signing winger Ryan Sessegnon, according to reports in the UK.
Tottenham and Juventus are also said to be keen on the 19-year-old, but it is believed that United are the only club so far this summer to approach the Cottagers for the teenager.
Some supporters on Twitter were happy to see the club linked with Sessegnon:
That is a fantastic signing. Would go for him and Toby if we are getting quality for cheap. Ideally would prefer Koulibaly but seems he’ll cost a lot

The best news since opening the transfer window. Shaw was having a free ride. Maybe if this young man comes to United, Shaw will stop eating hamburgers everyday.

I would like him as back up to Martial/Shaw. Smahed the championship at 17, people forget how young he is

In fairness United are desperately crying out for a young quick left winger

Others believe he shouldn’t be a priority signing for the club:
No seems overrated to me, guys are forgeting we’ve got a better option in Ethan Laird who can also play both wings

No thank you.

Why a LB?!

What do we need him for

No!

Sessegnon wouldn’t be directly in competition for Shaw at left-back. The Fulham star’s best performances have come further up the pitch as a left winger, and United may be considering him as a potential attacking option.
It’s true that the teenager struggled during his first season in the top flight, scoring just two goals and providing six assists in 30 appearances. However, he is still very young and has room to develop his game over the coming years.
