‘Thank Goodness’ ‘I Have No Problem With This’ Fans Relieved As United Give Up On Signing 234M Rated Midfield Duo

Manchester United have accepted that they won’t be able to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice or Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.

While the cost of the two transfers would have been high anyway (Rice is valued at £150m and Bellingham’s price tag is near £84m), it is believed the failure to qualify for the Champions League has ended any hopes of securing the pair.

The majority of supporters on Twitter are happy that neither Rice nor Bellingham will be moving to Old Trafford, with many feeling there are better, cheaper options on the market:

Up until recently a number of journalists were adamant that Rice was at the top of United’s list of summer targets but it seems the club’s disastrous end to the season has put pay to their hopes of securing the services of the England international, ahead of Chelsea or Manchester City. With Bellingham, a deal was always seen as unlikely with Dortmund adamant that they wouldn’t sell him in the same summer as Erling Haaland.
