Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is pushing for the club to sign Ajax attacking midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to reports in England.
The Red Devils think the Dutchman could be signed this month following Ajax’s failure to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages, but he could cost in excess of £50m.
Fans on Twitter do think van de Beek would be a good signing but are sceptical over whether United can pull off the deal:
Thank god! This is a good move!

If that’s true, then that’s a great player who can play on all 3 positions in the midfield line.

Chief Executive Ed Woodward is believed to have given the go-ahead for Solskjaer to sign players this month but van de Beek does have other suitors, including Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old has been in decent form this season, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in 26 appearances, and with United looking to sign a goalscoring midfielder, it appears the Dutch international could well be their best choice.
James Maddison is unlikely to be sold by Leicester this month, while Christian Eriksen looks set to move to Inter Milan.
