Tevez Speaks Out On Possible Surprise Return To Manchester United

Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez has refused to rule out a shock return to Manchester United. The 35-year-old was linked with a surprise reunion with the Red Devils last week, and when asked about the rumours, he chose not to dismiss the reports out of hand:

“It is a part of my notable career that generates things for you [to write] but I am very focused on Boca and one tries not to get too involved in those issues.”

Tevez controversially left Old Trafford in 2009 before joining arch-rivals Manchester City. He has been playing for his boyhood club Boca since 2018, although his contract with the Argentinian club runs out in June.

The forward started the season as a first-team regular, having scored three goals in 11 appearances, but he has been in and out of the squad over the past few months.

Tevez did start the 0-0 draw against Independiente last night, and he appears to be still in the club’s plans. Boca do have the option of extending his stay for a further year, and if that clause is triggered, it will likely end speculation linking the Argentine veteran with a return to United.
