Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham has chosen Borussia Dortmund ahead of Manchester United, according to German journalist Christian Falk.
The reporter, who it must be said isn’t always reliable, says that sources have told him that the 16-year-old has decided on a move to the Bundesliga:
“The strong clubs in the Bundesliga, behind Bayern, offer talented English players a chance to play, even internationally. Bellingham will therefore also go to Dortmund, not United. You will see. Our information is that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund.”
Fans on Twitter are disappointed that United may have missed out on a player with big potential:
Damn. He’s such a promising talent, it’s a shame the club have missed out on him if he’s right.

Hopefully it’s just a rumour and he comes

This is a big loss if true. That means Van De Beek has to come in then. Grealish at the least.

3years from now we’ll be buying him for 100M+

i wanted him but it’s best for him btw we can’t give him much game time

We shouldn’t be too bothered by this. We can buy him later when he proves himself just like Sancho.

We shall have to wait and see if Falk’s information is accurate. There were claims last week that United had yet to make a satisfactory offer to Birmingham for Bellingham, so it may be the case that Dortmund tabled a higher bid.
Chelsea and Arsenal have also been mentioned as possible destinations for the teenager in recent months but it seems the player could be looking to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho by getting more first-team football, and making a name for himself, in Germany.
