Suarez Talks Up Barcelona Move For United Playmaker

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has said he would welcome the signing of Manchester United Paul Pogba if the Catalan club revived their interest in the Frenchman.

It was reported in the summer that Barca had offered £45m plus two players, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, for the World Cup winner only for United to reject the bid.

Speaking to Spanish radio station RAC1 (translated by the Express), Suarez said that good players like Pogba would always be welcome at the Camp Nou:

“He [Pogba] is a part of the elite and has a lot of quality. I think he would like to compete for more than he is now. He is not a player that belongs to Barca, but quality players would always be welcome.”

It is believed that Barcelona remain interested in the 25-year-old. Catalan publication Mundo Deportivo reports, however, that United would demand an “astronomical figure” for the midfielder.

In addition, Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola would also command a significant fee which would likely scupper any move from going ahead.

The France international is an integral figure for United and has started all four matches so far this campaign, scoring two penalties against Leicester and Brighton.
