Stunning Stat Shows How Fernandes Has Turned United Into Title Contenders Since His Arrival Last January

Manchester United have now accrued more points than any other Premier League team since Bruno Fernandes’s arrival a year ago.

The Portuguese international has had a remarkable impact on the Red Devils and that is borne out in the results that the team has secured over the last 30 league games.

United’s victory against Aston Villa on Friday night means they have claimed 65 points following Fernandes’s move to Old Trafford, including 19 wins, eight draws and just three defeats.

In the same number of matches, Liverpool have only managed to pick up 62, with Manchester City a little further back on 56. Chelsea are fourth on 52, Spurs are fifth on 51, although they have played a game fewer, while Everton are in the top six with 48. Southampton (47), Arsenal (46), Wolves (46) and Leicester (43) round out the top half of the table.

Fernandes is probably not the only factor in United stepping up a gear over the past 12 months, but he is certainly the most important reason for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side’s transformation into title contenders.
