Manchester United fullback Ashley Young is poised to sign a new contract with the club, according to multiple reports in the English media.
The 33-year-old’s current deal expires in the summer but he is now expected to sign on to new terms keeping him at Old Trafford until 2020.
United fans on Twitter have mixed feelings about the news:
He’s still one of our best, most experienced squad players.. always handy when needed..

Let’s enjoy his hardwork. Maybe plans are underway to either get a new right back or build upon the confidence of Diogo. We’ll be fine, that I’m sure of.

As long as it’s a one year contract I got no problem with that at All will offer experience in the dressing room

United officials reportedly rate Young’s influence both in the dressing room and on the pitch.
The defender was initially purchased as a winger when he was signed from Aston Villa for £17m back in 2011. He is now one of the most experienced players at the club, having made 227 appearances during his time with United.
Young has been everpresent under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the United legend took over from the sacked Jose Mourinho at the end of December. The England international has started ten of the Norwegian’s 12 matches in charge of the club.
