Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said he was impressed with Marcel Sabitzer after he came on as a late substitute against Crystal Palace.
The Austrian was given his first runout after arriving on loan from Bayern Munich and, asked about the player’s cameo display, ten Hag replied:
“He came in, he played really well. He understands the game and it is good to see.”
Supporters on Twitter were very much of the same opinion when it came to Sabitzer’s debut, with many already feeling that he will be a worthwhile addition to the team:

Looks like a gem of a player who will fit right in. Should be decent cover for Casemiro.

From the looks of things, Sabitzer will have the physicality and technical ability to cope with the rigours of the Premier League.
The 28-year-old was a bit-part player at Bayern and that led to some criticism about United’s decision to bring him to Old Trafford. However, he had already shown during his time at RB Leipzig that he is a very capable midfielder and he should prove to be an invaluable member of the squad between now and the end of the season.
