South American Star’s Agent Travels ‘To Europe To Negotiate With Manchester United’ Over 51.3M Transfer

Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign Ajax winger Antony, according to Goal Brasil journalists Raul Moura and Thiago Fernandes.

The reporters claim that the Brazilian’s representative has made the trip “to Europe to negotiate with Manchester United” as a move to Old Trafford gets closer to being finalised.

It is believed that the deal could be worth as much as €60m (£51.3m), with Antony’s former club, Sao Paulo, getting 20% of the profit from the transfer. The Brazilian club sold the winger for €15m in 2020, so they would expect to receive around €9m.

United’s excellent relationship with Ajax’s board, combined with the fact that Erik ten Hag has worked with the player before, means that the Red Devils do have a “trump card” in negotiations.

Other teams, including Liverpool and Chelsea, have been mentioned as potential suitors previously, but it appears as though United are very much in pole position to sign Antony at the moment.
