Solskjaer Provides An Update On Bruno Fernandes’s Fitness Ahead Of Liverpool Clash

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Bruno Fernandes is one of the players who is doubtful for the match against Liverpool on Sunday.

It was reported in the English media this morning that the Portuguese international was unable to take a full part in yesterday afternoon’s training session. Solksjaer says the Portuguese international is facing a battle to be fit for the game this weekend:

“Bruno might be a doubt but he’s doing everything he can to be ready.”

It would be a big blow if Fernandes isn’t fit for the Liverpool clash, but there are players in the United squad who are more than capable of filling in if required. Paul Pogba could be switched to a more advanced role in midfield, or Solskjaer could give Donny van de Beek a rare start.

As well as Fernandes, Fred is also a doubt for Sunday’s game due to a hamstring problem, while Raphael Varane has already been ruled out of the fixture.
