Solskjaer Makes Title Race Claim As He Explains Why United And Chelsea Are Now Genuine “Challengers”

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes both the Red Devils and Chelsea have made good decisions in the transfer market that have helped them catch up with Manchester City and Liverpool.

Speaking about the upcoming season, Solskjaer says that he sees it being a four-horse race for the title, with the team who finishes above City likely to be named as champions:

“I feel us and Chelsea have spent well, worked well and we should look at ourselves as potential challengers. It feels like this season coming up is one of the strongest Premier League seasons. Of course, it’s been City and Liverpool fighting it out for a few years. Anyone who ends up above last year’s champions will be champions.”

United have certainly done some excellent business this summer, getting both Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in through the door before the start of the campaign.

Even so, the bookies still have the Manchester club as fourth favourites to finish first ahead of their rivals, with many seemingly unsure whether they can sustain a title challenge.

There is certainly a lot of unknowns about this group of players. Do they have the mentality to go all the way? We will find out more about their credentials in the opening weeks of the season.
