Solskjaer Expected To Promote TWO United Starlets To First Team Training

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to promote both Hannibal Mejbri and Shola Shoretire to the first team in the coming weeks, according to The Athletic.

Mejbri’s fledgeling career has been well-documented following his move from Monaco in the summer of 2019, and he has been excellent for the youth teams in the EFL Trophy and Premier League 2 this campaign.

However, the 18-year-old currently has an ankle injury and will only join first-team training once he has been given the all-clear by the club’s medical team.

Shoretire could, though, get his chance as soon as this week. Despite only being 17 years of age, the winger has been excelling at Under 23 level, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 13 appearances this season.

The teenager generally prefers to play on the left flank, cutting in onto his stronger right foot, but he is equally capable of playing from the right or as a number 10.
