Solskjaer Confirms United Ace Is “Unhappy” As He Continues To Get Limited Game Time

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Jesse Lingard is unhappy with his playing situation at the club.

The 28-year-old came on in the closing stages of the victory over Villarreal, making an instant impact by setting up Cristiano Ronaldo for the winning goal deep into added time.

However, Solskjaer claims that while he is delighted with Lingard’s contributions, the player himself is far less content about his lack of starts:

“‘Jesse is unhappy at not playing more. ut you come on and make an impact. That’s what you do when you’re a sub at this level.”

Lingard continues to be very productive when he is afforded minutes by Solskjaer. He has either scored a goal or made an assist in three of his last four appearances.

The England international was handed a start in the Carabao Cup against West Ham last week, but he was an unused substitute in the defeat to Aston Villa last weekend, and the fact that he isn’t being selected for the most important games is probably the forward’s main source of frustration currently.
