Solskjaer Confirms He Has Already Been Involved In Talks To Sign Two Players For United

Interim Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he is involved in the club’s summer transfer plans.

In another indication that the Norwegian is likely to extend his stay beyond the end of the season, he said he has been involved in talks with the club about signing two players.

Speaking earlier this week on a podcast in his native Norway, Solskjaer was asked about the January and summer transfer windows:

“In January, it was none, as we weren’t going to sign any players. Now the club is working on the players they want to bring in in the summer, and I’ve been a part of a couple of those.”

“There is a lot of work that goes into this, and then I come in at the end of the process. As a manager, I say where I think we should progress, what positions I think we need new players in, and what positions I think we will have great academy players in.”

Scouting players can take months of work so it is no surprise that the club are drawing up lists of targets ahead of next season.

However, Solskjaer’s confirmation that he is being consulted about signings does heavily suggest he will be in the dugout come August.

That won’t come as a surprise to many considering his remarkable managerial record since taking over in December.

With a win ratio of 82% following the win in Paris, and having lost just one of his 17 games in charge, it’s surely only a matter of time before he is officially appointed as permanent manager for the long term.
