Solskjaer And Phelan ‘Lay Down The Law’ In Meetings With Two United Stars

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and assistant head coach Mike Phelan have held meetings with both Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford about their conduct off the pitch, according to the Sun.

The club’s management are said to be concerned about the focus both players have on their interests outside of football. They have raised concerns, in particular, with Lingard about his JLINGZ fashion label which he launched last year.

Solskjaer and Phelan are believed to be trying to encourage a culture focused on work ethic, and the Sun say they are keen to “lay down the law” and ensure their best players are buying into the philosophy.

Lingard has seen his performances dip at the start of this season and has found himself out of the starting line up. Rashford has, however, been in decent form with his winner against Leicester City yesterday taking his total for the season to three.
