“So Much Is Said” 21.5M Rated Bundesliga Star Drops Hint About Future Amid United And Arsenal Rumours

RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has made it clear he is no closer to signing a contract extension with the Bundesliga club, increasing speculation that he could leave in the summer.

The Austrian international, who has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, has just a year remaining on his contract, and when asked about his future, the 27-year-old said his situation remains unresolved:

“So much is said in football. What I say today won’t count tomorrow. I’m sticking to the fact that I have a contract until 2022.”

Reports suggest that RB Leipzig would be open to selling Sabitzer for €25m (£21.5m) at the end of the season if they can’t tie down the midfielder to a new deal.

United are expected to be looking for a midfielder this summer, and the Austrian would certainly fit the bill, considering his ability to play in a number of different roles.

This campaign, Sabitzer has been employed mostly in the middle of the park, scoring nine goals and contributing seven assists, but he can also play in more offensive positions, such as on the right-wing or as a no.10.
