Sky Sports Reporter James Cooper Lays Out United’s Transfer Stance On Harry Kane

Manchester United will not make a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane under any circumstances when the transfer window reopens, according to Sky Sports‘ North West reporter James Cooper.

The well-connected journalist says that even if Spurs make the 26-year-old available for transfer, the Red Devils will not be tempted to make a move:

“It won’t happen even if Daniel Levy were to suggest to Ed Woodward he might be prepared to do a deal for Kane.”

Cooper says Kane is not on United’s list of transfer targets, as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer focuses his recruitment on other areas of the pitch.

The finances it would take to sign the England captain would also prove to be prohibitive. Although United are said to be one of the few clubs who can cope financially during the postponement of football fixtures, they still won’t be shelling out significant sums.

Kane’s asking price is reported to be between £150m and £200m, and the Manchester club are not even considering spending that sort of money on one player this summer.
