Sky Reporter Reveals United And City Are “Monitoring” Austrian Teenage Sensation

Manchester United and Manchester City are among the clubs tracking Rapid Vienna striker Jovan Zivkovic, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Austrian Under 17 international has only recently signed a new contract with his current club but Plettenberg claims that United, City, Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz are “monitoring” his situation:

Zivkovic has been a sensation in Rapid Vienna’s youth ranks, scoring goals on a regular basis at both Under 16 and 18 level.

Due to his impressive performances, the Austrian side decided to give the teenager his senior debut for the second team in Austrian Bundesliga 2 back in February against Floridsdorfer AC.

The 17-year-old was given his first start on the last day of the season against Blau Weiss Linz last Friday.

United want reinforcements in the forward line

It appears that United manager Erik ten Hag is keen on strengthening his options up front. In addition to Zivkovic, the club are reportedly pursuing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.

Ten Hag wants to sign an experienced forward, and another less-experienced option who can be deployed as backup, before the summer transfer window closes.
