Sky Journalist Reveals United Are Expected To Make “Official Offer” For 64M Rated French Ace Within “The Next Week”

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg believes Manchester United are likely to step up their interest in RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku with an “official offer” within the “next week”.

The Frenchman is also a target for Chelsea and a number of other teams, but Plettenberg claims the Red Devils look set to make the first move for the player, after having already contacted his agent:

As Plettenberg points out, Leipzig are determined to keep hold of Nkunku (who is reportedly valued at around €75m or £64m). It has been claimed that the Bundesliga club are looking to offer him a new contract that will include a release clause.

If he were to put pen to paper on an extension, though, he would likely remain in Germany for another year so United are pressing ahead to make him consider a potential switch now.

Although it appears that the transfer is being spearheaded by Ralf Rangnick, it’s certain that new manager Erik ten Hag would have also approved the move to go after the France international.
