Sky Journalist Claims United Are “Definitely” Interested In Snapping Up Striker Who Has Scored 25 Times This Season

Manchester United will “definitely be interested” in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The Nigerian has been in outstanding form this season, hitting the back of the net 25 times in all competitions. However, while he believes the Red Devils are keen on securing the player’s services, Sheth says a lot depends on what happens with the sale of the club:

“United would definitely be interested because they want to fill that position. But again, as I mentioned before, that takeover and the finances within that club are going to hold a big key in whether they’d be able to get someone like Osimhen or not.”

As Sheth points out, if the Glazers continue to drag out takeover talks, it could affect United’s planning for the next transfer window.

Other teams, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City, have been linked with Osimhen in recent weeks and, if United are not in a position to make a move for the 24-year-old, it could allow rivals to beat them to the forward’s signature.

Osimhen is known to have seriously considered a move to Old Trafford in the past, so he would likely be open to joining Erik ten Hag’s side, but it appears getting the finances needed to get any deal over the line could prove to be a challenge.
