Manchester United are among the teams pursuing Hoffenheim left-back David Raum, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The journalist claims that there is a lot of interest in the German international, with the player set to be made available for between €30m (£26m) and €35m (£30m):
Update #Raum: Transfer this summer more than likely. He wants to make the next step. Top clubs of the Premier League are interested. 5-8 clubs want him. #MUFC is one of them. Dortmund as well. No release clause. Transfer fee around €30-35m! @SkySportDE #TransferUpdate 🟨🇩🇪

While there is some enthusiasm for signing Raum on Twitter, plenty of fans are rather sceptical about the prospects of the club managing to get a deal over the line:

Saw Him few times. Top 5 Left Backs in the world easily. Can play with both feet, can cross well, very very fast, and decent defensively. Would love to see him at united

Raum is clearly a good player, having provided 11 assists in the Bundesliga last season, and he has also been linked with Chelsea, West Ham and Newcastle recently. However, you can’t see the left-back position being a primary focus for manager Erik ten Hag in terms of recruitment.
Signing a midfielder will take precedence, whilst bringing in a forward, a centre-back and right-back are likely to be higher up the list of priorities. It may be a deal that the club revisit later on in the summer.
