“Should Go For Him Over Everybody Else…” Berbatov Names £150M Rated Serie A Ace As United’s No.1 Striker Target

Ex-Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has urged his former club to push ahead with plans to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

A number of other clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, have also been credited with an interest in the Nigerian but Berbatov believes United must prioritise a move for the forward over other options:

“Victor Osimhen. The guy is unbelievable at the moment. He’s very young, he’s great in the air, his speed is exceptional and the goals he’s scoring for Napoli are unbelievable. If they do go for a striker in the summer, then they should go for him over everybody else.”

Berbatov’s opinion does differ markedly from other pundits such as Thierry Henry and Paul Scholes. Henry has backed the Red Devils to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane while Scholes prefers Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.

Osimhen is, however, one of the most in-form strikers in Europe, having racked up 25 goals in all competitions this campaign, and Napoli won’t let him leave on the cheap.

One report has suggested that the Serie A side may demand upwards of £150m for the 24-year-old, although other sources have put the figure closer to £130m.  From the looks of things, though, it appears United will have to break their transfer record to sign him.
