Manchester United sent a scout to watch Martin Odegaard in action for Real Sociedad on Saturday, according to El Diario Vasco.
The Spanish website claims that the Red Devils’ head of global scouting Marcel Bout was present as Odegaard’s side won 3-0 against Valencia at the weekend.
The Norwegian international is currently on loan from Real Madrid, and a number of fans on Twitter are wondering whether the midfielder will be used in a part-exchange deal for Paul Pogba:

Martin Odegaard would make more sense than Sancho but I doubt they're willing to sell.

As long as he isn't connected to Mino will be fine

Odegaard had initially struggled after moving to Real in 2015, but he has been very impressive for Sociedad this campaign, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 25 appearances.
It follows on from a standout loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem last season where he scored 11 goals and laid on 12 assists in 39 games for the Dutch club. The 21-year-old is certainly beginning to realise his potential and Real Madrid will likely be very reluctant to sell the playmaker.
