After an abject display against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would probably want to make wholesale changes when they play Norwich tomorrow but the club’s injury problems mean his hands are tied.

With Harry Maguire out with a hip injury and Axel Tuanzebe struggling with a hamstring problem, Phil Jones is likely to partner Victor Lindelof once again in the centre of defence. Luke Shaw could replace Brandon Williams if he manages to recover from illness.

In midfield, Jesse Lingard’s disappointing display versus City could see Nemanja Matic come back into the team alongside Fred, with Andreas Pereira pushed further forward.

Up front, Anthony Martial will be fit to start so the Frenchman will likely replace Daniel James, who has been struggling for form recently. United’s no.9 is expected to play through the middle, with Mason Greenwood on the right flank and Marcus Rashford on the left.
