Shaw In Discussions To Extend His Stay At Manchester United

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is expected to sign a new long-term contract at Old Trafford, according to reports in the UK.

The 23-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and he will be able to talk to foreign teams in January, but United believe the player will be staying at the club.

Shaw has struggled since arriving from Southampton for an initial £27m in 2014. Injuries and poor form had left the England international a bit-part player at the Manchester club.

However, after clear the air talks with manager Jose Mourinho in the summer, the fullback has seen a swift turnaround in his fortunes.

Shaw has played the full 90 minutes in all but one of United’s eight Premier League matches this season. The only match he missed was against Watford when he was sidelined with a concussion.

It is believed the club are now holding discussions with the player about extending his stay following his good start to the campaign.
