Serie A Side Worried About Losing £44m Serbian Stopper With United Circling

Fiorentina are concerned that they could lose highly-rated centre-back Nikola Milenkovic to Manchester United, according to La Repubblica.

The Italian newspaper reports that the Red Devils are still keen on the Serbian international, who they reportedly tabled a €40m bid for during the 2019 January transfer window.

Milenkovic, who is said to be valued at €50m (£44m), has just two years left on his contract at Fiorentina and the Viola are looking to tie down the defender for the longer term.

It must be said that United’s previous interest in the Serbian came before they shelled out on Harry Maguire last summer.

So, it may be the case, that Milenkovic’s agent will use the Manchester club’s previous interest in the 22-year-old in order to get him a new deal.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be happy with the centre-halves currently at his disposal with Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe all potential centre-back partners for Maguire.
