Samuel Luckhurst Provides Update As Reports In Spain Claim United’s Europa League Clash Could Be In Jeopardy

Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst says he has been told by Manchester United that their game against LASK Linz in the Europa League is still scheduled to go ahead.

The Coronavirus outbreak has been affecting matches right across, with tonight’s European tie being played behind closed doors in Austria as a precautionary measure.

However, Spanish newspaper Marca claims that UEFA are set to announce that Champions League and Europa League will be suspended with immediate effect. Taking to Twitter, Luckhurst responded to those reports:

The pandemic is having a serious impact on major European competitions, with La Liga and Serie A games having already been called off, although the Premier League has remained unaffected for the time being.

Things may yet change between now and kickoff at the Linzer Stadion at 5:55 PM this evening so supporters should be advised to keep up the date with the latest developments on ManUNews.com.
