Roy Keane Sends Message To Mason Greenwood After United Ace Scores Once Again Against Villa

Manchester United legend Roy Keane is hoping that Mason Greenwood keeps his feet on the ground after the 18-year-old scored his ninth Premier League goal of the season against Aston Villa last night.

The teenager has been in terrific form since the restart and while Keane was quick to praise the forward’s display, he has also advised the striker about his long-term future:

“The best part of playing football is scoring goals. He’s 18 years of age and playing for Manchester United, he’s scoring goals.”

“Good luck to the kid. That’s what dreams are made of. You just hope obviously he’s got good people around him. [He needs to] keep that hunger.”

It can be very easy to get carried away with Greenwood’s performances. After all, he has scored 16 goals in all competitions this campaign.

However, as Keane says, it is wise to be slightly cautious, with many players over the years having burst onto the scene before suffering difficult moments in their career.

For now, though, United fans should just appreciate what a fantastic young player the club possess in Greenwood. He has the potential to become a generational talent if he keeps up this rate of development.
