Roy Keane Rates Manchester United’s Chances Of Catching Arsenal And City

Manchester United legend Roy Keane says his former club have to be “ready to pounce” if Arsenal or Manchester City slip up above them in the Premier League table.

The Sky Sports pundit was asked for his thoughts about whether Erik ten Hag’s side have a realistic chance of winning the title, when he said:

“Obviously, Arsenal and City are ahead of them but what they have to do, if any of the teams above them slip up, they have to be ready to pounce. They won today [Sunday] and they have to keep the pressure on City.”

United’s win against Leeds at the weekend does put them in touching distance with Arsenal at the top of the table. With the Gunners dropping points on Saturday to Brentford, it means the Red Devils are now just five points behind the league leaders.

However, they have played two more games, which means any chances of ten Hag’s side getting involved in the title race depend on their rivals making more mistakes.

With Arsenal taking on City on Wednesday night, United fans are in the unusual position of hoping that their Manchester rivals can do them a favour and win at the Emirates.
