Roy Keane Calls On United To Back Ten Hag This Summer With £220M Double Transfer

Manchester United legend Roy Keane wants his former club to snap up Tottenham striker Harry Kane and West Ham captain Declan Rice.

While the Spurs star could cost £100m, Rice is believed to have a price tag of around £120m but Keane believes the two England internationals would improve Erik ten Hag’s squad:

“I think Rice would be a decent signing, but in terms of the excitement and the goalscoring, you’d go all out for Kane. But can you see Spurs selling him to Man United? Very, very difficult.”

Can United sign both Kane and Rice?

A move for Kane does seem pretty likely, with the 29-year-old having few other options if he chooses to stay in England. There has been some talk that he could run down the final year of his contract at Tottenham but his club are likely to sell up if they get a good enough offer.

Things are slightly more complicated with Rice. Arsenal are said to be favourites to secure the 24-year-old’s signature at the moment, while Chelsea also have a longstanding interest in the player.

However, the midfielder’s asking price could be a problem, for the Gunners in particular, and that could leave the door open for a team like United to make their own move.

Of course, all of this depends on the Manchester club’s ownership situation being resolved sooner rather than later. Ten Hag has already publicly stated that he needs to be backed in the transfer market to keep United competitive, which is a signal to his bosses at Old Trafford that he wants to get players in through the door as soon as possible.
