Ronaldo To Start, Rashford On The Bench: United’s Predicted XI To Face City

Manchester United know they face an uphill task heading into the derby against City at the Etihad tomorrow afternoon.

Manager Erik ten Hag has managed to turn around a difficult start to his reign but the fixture this weekend is by a distance the most difficult test he has faced so far.

David De Gea will start in goal, and you’d expect that ten Hag will choose Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia in his back four after some strong performances in recent weeks.

There is a debate to be had in midfield. Starting two creative midfielders is a risk but you can’t see either Christian Eriksen or Bruno Fernandes being dropped. Scott McTominay could get the nod ahead of Casemiro.

Up front, Marcus Rashford hasn’t trained for most of the week so he may only be fit enough for the bench. That means Cristiano Ronaldo could lead the line, with Antony and Jadon Sancho either side of him.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Play City:

De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia, Fernandes, McTominay, Eriksen, Antony, Ronaldo, Sancho
