Romano Reveals United Have Drawn Red Line In Negotiations For 28M Rated La Liga Star

Manchester United’s negotiations to sign Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon are “progressing” according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist reports that the 23-year-old is keen on a move to Old Trafford while his agents are currently “positive” that an agreement will be reached between the two clubs.

However, there is still a major obstacle to overcome. Real want a buyback clause inserted in the deal so they can re-sign Reguilon for a specific fee in the future but United don’t want it to be included:

There could a compromise of some description if Real agree to have a first option on the defender, instead of a buyback clause, but it remains to be seen if that would be acceptable to both parties.

United are also said to be reluctant to pay €30m (£28m) for Reguilon so that is another area of disagreement that will need to be resolved before the transfer can be finalised.
