Romano Reveals Two Major Issues Are Stopping United From Finalising 4.5M Transfer

Manchester United are favourites to sign Independiente de Valle midfielder Moises Caicedo but the transfer has yet to be finalised, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims the Red Devils have been in contact with the Ecuadorian international’s agent and, while his €5m (£4.5m) asking price and wages won’t be a problem, there are a couple of reasons why a deal hasn’t been confirmed.

Responding to a question from a follower on Twitter, Romano said that Caicedo’s work permit could still be an issue, while manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has yet to give his go-ahead for the transfer:

While Solskjaer’s approval is likely, considering the efforts already made to sign the 19-year-old, the visa could be more of a problem. The teenager already has four senior caps for Ecuador but that might not be enough.
