Romano Reveals Latest On United’s Sancho Move Amid Claims Chelsea And Liverpool Could Enter The Race

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has moved to clarify reports that the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool could enter the battle with Manchester United to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

After noticing a tweet referring to claims he made about the England international’s future, Romano refuted the assertion that he named any clubs, other than United, as being interested, although he does think there could be more competition for the 20-year-old next summer:

From Romano’s comments, it does seem as though there is no possibility of the Red Devils reviving their interest in Sancho during the January transfer window, and it appears it may result in a battle for the player’s signature at the end of the season.

Considering the player’s form has been less impressive this season, having scored four goals and contributed nine assists in 18 appearances for Dortmund, it remains to be seen what level of competition United will face to sign the winger.
