Romano Confirms 20M Rated Spanish Star Is “Expected To Leave” His Club Amid United And Chelsea Transfer Links

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is “expected to leave” the Bees at the end of the season, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have all been linked with signing the Spaniard, and Romano has claimed that a transfer this summer is very likely after the player turned down the chance to extend his contract:

Raya will have a year remaining on his current deal in June, and it has been reported that Brentford would consider selling the shot-stopper for £20m.

Bees boss Thomas Frank has suggested a much higher fee of around £40m will be needed but it’s unlikely they will hold out for that much considering his current situation.

United’s interest in Raya is thought to be dependent on what happens to David De Gea. The 32-year-old is yet to agree an extension despite only having just under four months remaining on his contract. It was thought that the club’s number one would accept a pay cut in order to stay at Old Trafford but he still hasn’t signed on the dotted line.
