Roma set to pip Manchester United to signing of teenage sensation

Manchester United are set to lose out on Ajax wonderkid Justin Kluivert.

Kluivert, 19, has been heavily linked with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs since making is debut for Ajax last season.

Manchester United, Inter Milan and Barcelona – the former club of his father, Patrick – have all been rumoured to be interested in signing the Dutchman.

However, according to Dutch outlet VI.nl, Champions League semi-finalists Roma are now set to land the teenager.

The Italians are understood to be negotiating a deal with Kluivert’s agent, Mino Raiola, to bring him to the Stadio Olympico over the summer.

Raiola had originally tried to barter a deal with Ajax to keep him in Holland, however the Dutch side were unable to meet the agent’s wage demands.

The Italian was demanding an excessive salary and 30 per cent of any transfer fee for his client, causing the club to reject the offer.

Kluivert is expected to cost Roma around £7.5 million.
