Respected Journalist Confirms United Star Is “Almost Certain” To Leave Club Next Summer Despite New Deal

Manchester United midfielder Fred is “almost certain” to be sold at the end of the season, according to The Guardian journalist Jamie Jackson.

The Red Devils have triggered their option to keep the Brazilian international for another year, but it looks as if he will be on the move next summer.

Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw have also had their contracts extended for an additional twelve months from 2023 to 2024 but, unlike Fred, all three players are expected to have long-term futures at Old Trafford.

From the sound of things, the Brazilian international is not part of Erik ten Hag’s first-team plans. Since the new manager’s arrival in July, Fred has been in and out of the starting lineup.

The midfielder has managed just four starts in the Premier League, and only seven in all competitions, despite the Red Devils having played 21 times. It seems he is set to leave after five years in Manchester.
