REPORT: Woodward And United Officials Have Held Talks To Sign 91M Rated Forward On Loan

Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward and club officials have been in discussions with Barcelona about a possible loan deal for Ousmane Dembele, according to the Daily Record‘s Duncan Castles.

It is thought that Barca would want to sell the Frenchman outright for €100m (£91m) but there is a belief that the Catalan club would be open to a loan agreement if there is an obligation to buy the player at the end of the season.

However, Dembele is currently said to be keen on staying at the Camp Nou but he could be ushered towards the exit door with Barcelona desperately needing to reduce the wage bill as well as to raise funds for other transfers.

It does seem as though the France international is being eyed by United as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho with Borussia Dortmund refusing to budge on their €120m (£110m) asking price.

Even so, a move for Dembele would be a big risk considering the 23-year-old spent the majority of last season out injured with a hamstring injury.
