REPORT: United Vying With Rival To Sign 24 Year Old Striker Who Could Become ‘Third Most Expensive’ Player In History

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are set to go head to head to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian publication claim that his club are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old and president Aurelio De Laurentiis is likely to hold out for €150m (£132m), which could make him the “third most expensive” player in football history.

Osimhen has recently expressed he is happy at Napoli but he has never hidden his desire to play in the Premier League, and a departure at the end of the season cannot be ruled out.

In addition to United and PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the Nigerian international but his price tag is likely to prove problematic.

If the Red Devils are under new ownership this summer, such an outlay may be deemed as acceptable but, in any case, the hope will be that Napoli lower their demands for Osimhen.
