REPORT: United Targeting 32 Year Old, Nicknamed ‘Baby Mourinho,’ As Potential Future Manager

Manchester United are keeping tabs on RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann, according to the Daily Mail. The 32-year-old only left Hoffenheim for his current job in the summer but has made an impressive start to his time with the German club.

Leipzig are currently fifth in the Bundesliga table after seven games, just two points off the top of the table. During his time in charge at Hoffenheim, he guided them to fourth in his first full season in charge before helping them finish 3rd a year later.

Nagelsmann had a more difficult time of it last season, finishing ninth before making the switch to Leipzig. He has been nicknamed the “Baby Mourinho” by some in Germany, and despite his young age, he already has almost five seasons under his belt as a head coach.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already coming under pressure following a poor start to the season, United may make a move for a new manager this campaign, although the Mail do emphasise it’s unlikely that Nagelsmann would be the Norwegian’s direct successor if he is sacked.
