REPORT: United Scout Watched France Star In Action Against Switzerland (And It Wasn’t Varane)

A Manchester United scout was in the crowd to see Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in action for France against Switzerland earlier this week, according to the Daily Star.

Rabiot was deployed out of position as a left wingback by manager Didier Deschamps, with both Lucas Hernandez and Lucas Digne having suffered injuries.

United are believed to be close to signing another Frenchman, Raphael Varane, but it seems the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Rabiot as well.

The midfielder was a target for the Manchester club before he made the free transfer switch to Juventus two years ago. Since then, the 26-year-old has been regularly linked with moves away from Italy, with even Chelsea being mentioned as a potential destination a few months ago.

United are keen on strengthening their numbers in the middle of the park, and it looks as though Rabiot is being seriously considered as an option.
