REPORT: United Prepared To Offer 400K A Week In Wages To Champions League Winner

Manchester United are willing to offer Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman a net wage of €12m a year to move to Old Trafford, according to SportBild (via Sport Witness).

The France international, who scored the winner in last year’s Champions League final, is currently locked in discussions with Bayern over a new deal.

However, the Bundesliga champions are not willing to increase Coman’s €12m a year salary; a figure which does not take into account income tax.

United’s offer would, therefore, effectively double his salary, as they are willing to hand him that wage after taxes. With the highest rate tax band in United Kingdom being 50%, it would mean the Red Devils will be paying the 24-year-old €24m a year, which is close to £400,000 a week or £200,000 a week after the taxman takes their cut.

Coman’s current contract at Bayern runs until 2023 so the German club are under no pressure to sell, but United, and a number of other teams, including Chelsea, are said to be monitoring his situation.
