REPORT: United Poised To Sign Spanish Teenage Defender Ahead Of Liverpool

Manchester United are close to signing Villarreal defender Adrian Corral, according to reports in Spain.

The Spaniard turned 16 a few days ago and the player is now eligible to sign a professional deal with any club he chooses.

Corral reportedly announced on social media that he isn’t planning on staying at the Yellow Submarine. It is believed the fullback will leave Spain with all signs pointing to a move to Old Trafford.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the player in recent months but it seems that United have won the race for the defender.

Corral can play as either a left-back or as a left-sided central defender. He is yet to make his debut at senior level but has already been selected for Spain’s Under 16 side.

Interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he doesn’t expect any signings this month, although that likely relates to the senior side rather than the youth setup.
